Dr. John Sunderland was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and grew up in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Allied Medicine from the Ohio State University, and Masters of Science in Nutritional Biochemistry from Harvard University. He returned to OSU to attend Medical School on scholarship and graduated summa cum laude. He completed his diagnostic Radiology residency at The Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. After completing a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at The Alexandria Vascular Institute and George Washington University in Alexandria, Virginia and Washington D.C., he moved to Louisville, KY to join DXP Imaging. Practicing in Louisville continuously since 1998 he has used advanced non-surgical endovascular techniques to treat vascular disorders including arterial blockages, deep venous thrombosis (venous clots), the treatment of acute life-threatening bleeding, as well as the non-surgical treatment of cancers and uterine fibroids.
